Hugh and Zane Campbell put on a lively, fascinating show based on a rich family tradition of singing and songwriting. They sing and tell stories in the colorful mountain tradition of their ancestors. The prizewinning documentary film about the Campbells and their family, “New River: a family musical history tour” will be shown and they will have some of their folk art furniture on display and for sale. Allen LaMontagne will sing songs from the 20th century Great American Songbook and contemporary folk songs all to the sparkling piano accompaniment of Joe Holt. The Mainstay’s “New Directions” series encourages established musicians to explore new areas and journeymen to take it to the next level. Joe will play a few solo pieces and Allen will also play guitar on some numbers. Free!

The smallest racing boats on the Bay. These Radio Controlled Laser replicas are a thing to watch. The sailors are all experienced big boat drivers looking for a "little" fun. All racing takes place within 100 feet of our dock. Anyone can join in, see if you like it, then buy your own R/C Laser and race!

Bring your guitar and $20 (cash or check made out to Frank Vignola). Students under 18 or college age with ID are $5. The first half of this 2 hour workshop will concentrate on exercises and fingerboard study. In the second half Frank and Vinny will teach some songs and then all will play together. Frank says, “We'll discuss, demonstrate, question, improvise and have a heck of a time!” ALL LEVELS OF EXPERTISE ARE WELCOME!

The exquisite vocalist Sue Matthews sings the songs of Jimmy Van Heusen backed by pianist Robert Redd, woodwinds player Scott Silbert, bassist Tommy Cecil and a drummer. Many of Van Heusen’s songs were written for Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby and include such classics as “It Could Happen To You,” “Here's That Rainy Day,” “Come Dance With Me,” and of course, “Swinging On A Star.” Call for reservations. Rachel Walker, a PhD candidate at the University of Maryland will speak on the roles of women during the War of 1812 as part of Kent County’s War of 1812 bicentennial commemoration. She studies early American history focusing on transatlantic cultural and intellectual networks of the 18th and 19th centuries, gender, race and ethnicity in early America and the social, cultural, and economic transformations of the early nineteenth century. Admission is free. Donations accepted.
OCEAN Quartet

OCEAN Quartet plays music inspired by traditions from across the British and Celtic world from composer Jennifer Cutting on accordions & keyboard; vocalist Lisa Moscatiello on vocals, whistles & guitar; Scottish fiddler Andrew Dodds, and folklorist Steve Winick on vocals and percussion. They put a glorious spin on traditional songs and Cutting’s fine original compositions, from soaring ballads and stirring sea chanteys to blazing fiddle and accordion tunes. Admission is $15.
