The Penn Fishing Team Finishes In The Money
at "Stars and Stripers" Tournament
The Penn Fishing Team competed at this year's "Stars and Stripers" Tournament on the Chesapeake Bay on May 3rd and 4th (2003). The World's Richest Striper Tournament, sponsored by Boater's World, kicked off the 2003 ASA Tournament Season. Over 200 boats participated. Team Penn finished 11th overall with a 30 pound six ounce striper. The Penn Team included President and CEO Kevin Martin, his son Shawn, who place second in the Junior Angler category, Don Johnson, Chet Reklewski, David Shanks, Kendal Baxindine, Brent Kane and Joe Nicholas. The team fished on board the Miss Carolyn with Captain "Fletch" Fletcher.

Rockfish (striped bass) trophy season -
Begins the third week in April
and runs through the 15th of May.
Allowed one fish over 28 inches.
Here's your chance to catch that big one!

Rockfish (striped bass) regular season -
Runs 15 May to 15 December
(2 fish per day over 18" long,
one can be over 28" long)

Fishing Areas:
We normally fish five to ten miles from Rock Hall Harbor, about a half hour to one hour ride. We troll in the spring and fall, and when it comes time to chum we bottom fish in the area from the Bay Bridge north. In the fall we also fish the shallows of the Chester River.

We use Planner Boards (to extend lines away from
the boat into shallow waters) in the spring and fall.

...And when a great day of fishing is over, you might try a drink and excellent meal at the Harbor Shack, right on the waterfront. You'll love the outdoor dining, great menu and live music on weekends.

We try to catch big fish all the time!!
So why not let 'Capt Fletch' take
you to where the big ones are?

We like trolling for rockfish (striped bass) and blue fish. We also go bottom fishing and chumming for rockfish, blues and croakers. In the fall we add
trolling in the shallows for rockfish.

Basic Fishing Charter Prices

Full Day (eight hours): $540 up to six anglers $90.00 per additional anglers to a maximum of 12

Half a day (six hours): $420.00 up to six anglers $70.00 per additional angler to a maximum of 12.

No licenses are required. We provide all bait
fishing tackle and crabbing equipment.

Fish cleaning services will be provided at the
end of each trip. Fish will be cleaned at your
request and bagged for the trip home.

Times can vary to fit your schedule.
A $100.00 deposit is required to hold your date.

Here's what you need to bring:
a camera!! - deck shoes - warm clothes if needed
sun glasses - food and drinks
a cooler for your catch
rain gear if bad weather's forecast.

Please don't forget to tip the mate. He or
she works hard to make your trip enjoyable
and safe. Twenty percent is a standard tip
if you believe he or she has earned it.

When we go bottom fishing and chumming
for rockfish, blues and croakers, we use
Ugly Stiks with a Okuma Avenger 40 Reel.

For line, we like Vanish Fluorocarbon, Ande Monofilament and Berkley Trilene.
