MAINSTAY-Welcome Back, Buskin & Batteau!

The Mainstay is excited to welcome back one of their favorite musical teams, Buskin & Batteau. David Buskin & Robin Batteau, and their outstanding percussionist Marshal Rosenberg, have been performing their irresistible gumbo of melodic, sensual pop, folkie grit and killer wit to critical acclaim and standing ovations for more than forty years. “Their harmonies and wonderful presence onstage are as captivating as ever,” says Ron Olesko, of WFDU-FM. Rich Warren of Chicago’s WFMT has expressed similar sentiments: “I think they levitated the audience. Terrific musicianship, memorable songs, and just great-all-around entertainers.”

Their original songs have been recorded by many great artists, including Judy Collins, Ladysmith Black Mombazo, The Oak Ridge Boys, Peter, Paul & Mary, Tom Rush, Bette Midler, Astrud Gilberto, Anne Murray, Dixie Carter, Whitney Houston, and Roberta Flack.

Both David and Robin have also enjoyed stellar careers as jingle writers (they quip that their Clio Award-winning jingles have been recorded by “everybody famous with a mouth.”)
