The Mainstay is pleased to present folk musician Skyler Cumbia as Joe Holt’s next “First Friday” featured guest.

On the second Wednesday of every month (beginning at 7:00 PM) the Mainstay welcomes area performers to take the stage and perform a sampling of their repertoire.

Susan Ellis is back with another fun paint night! We will be painting the Blue Crab by the water.

The sassy pop, rock, and soul duo SIRSY have been called “the little band with the big sound” by the Boston Globe. The South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Blog says “SIRSY is not simply a two piece, the sound they make is a head scratching WOW!” 

Take the format of a traditional chamber ensemble (combining sounds from each of the four instrument groups -- brass, woodwinds, percussion, and strings). Add a fifth (the human voice). Then take a left turn towards Brubeck, the blues, and other surprise visits along the way.

The Mainstay is excited to welcome back jazz pianist Allyn Johnson and his quartet.

Pianist Johnson stands as one of the most influential figures in the Washington D.C. jazz scene. Adding to his jazz prowess, the blues is evident with every note he plays.
