Job Description
The Main Street Rock Hall Executive Director/ Town of Rock Hall Grant Manager (ED/GM) is a full-time position
The position reports directly to the MSRH board of directors and the Rock Hall town manager.
Starting annual salary: $45,000 - $60,000 (commensurate with experience) plus an extensive benefit package. Compensation is partially grant-based and relies on the successful implementation of predetermined metrics and regular reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the visible contact person and full-time advocate for Main Street Rock Hall.
Identify, secure, and manage funding from federal, state and other resources to enhance town revenue and improve town services.
Help build strong, productive relationships with and between downtown businesses, Town Administration, elected officials, Town police, residents, public agencies, as well as relevant groups and organizations.
Cultivate, maintain, and support active volunteer committees to implement the MSRH goals.
Direct efforts at business retention, expansion, and recruitment
Administer and monitor small business support, façade and building improvement grant programs. Work with proprietors to grow their businesses and to enhance the quality of their retail/commercial space.
Collaborate with Procurement and Grant Accounting position on financial aspects
Identify grant opportunities aligned with town priorities
Oversee grant funded projects, ensuring compliance and successful outcomes
Stay informed about grant opportunities and trends to diversify town revenue streams
Write compelling grant proposals and manage the grant application process
Coordinate neighborhood projects and programs, ie: clean ups, promotions, and small business educational workshops.
Plan, coordinate, and execute special events designed to draw patron activity to Rock Hall businesses.
Maintain knowledge of community resources available to local businesses; promote and communicate resources as needed.
Develop and implement public relations, communications, and marketing plans to include project displays at public events, website material, social media, and the development of promotional material including a quarterly MSRH newsletter.
Assist with writing, editing, and publishing informational and marketing brochures and flyers.
Collect, input, and manage data on business and resident surveys, and other measurements of success; prepare reports on outcomes.
Prepare and file timely financial, program, and statistical reports; present reports for funders and community.
Ability to attend meetings and events outside of normal business hours, including occasional weekend events, and local travel are a requirement of this position.

Desirable Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a proven leader experienced in business development. Education and prior experience in economic development and/or non-profit administration is highly desirable, along with strong analytical skills to identify opportunities and a vision for implementation.
The ED/GM must exhibit initiative, be a self-starter, and possess strong communication and organizational skills. He/she must be able to communicate and work well with others, including existing and new businesses, other organizations, board members, elected officers, town staff, and volunteers, and must be a team player and problem solver.
The ED/GM must be sensitive to design and preservation issues and must understand the issues confronting small town business people, property owners, public agencies, and community organizations.
Position Requirements
Education: College graduate with bachelor’s degree or technical college degree in relevant field.
Experience: 2 years successful experience in government grant writing and management, proficiency in grant related software and tools, experience in business and economic development
Strong computer skills, including mastery of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Facebook, Instagram, and other digital media, as well as experience with CRM and website maintenance.
Ability to attend meetings and events outside of normal business hours including occasional weekend events and travel.
