Storm Preparations

A Blizzard Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service.

Kent County including the Rock Hall area can expect 1-2 FT of snow and 40-45 mph sustained winds with higher gusts.

At this time we are not expecting any tidal flooding.

Governor Hogan has declared a State of Emergency for the state of Maryland, this went into effect at 7 AM today

We have requested the National Guard to stand by at the Rock Hall Firehouse to assist Fire/EMS and Police with emergencies.

The Rock Hall Firehouse will serve as Rock Hall’s Emergency Operation Center and will be staffed with Fire/EMS crews throughout the duration of the storm.

If you have a non-emergency and need assistance, please call the firehouse at 410-639-7888. All emergencies call 9-1-1.

The Rock Hall Police Department will have Officers on duty and will be utilizing the departments 4 wheel drive SUV. They will also be stationed and respond to calls from the Rock Hall Firehouse.

Town Staff has completed all necessary precautions, the snow plows are ready to go into service, all generators at the Water and Sewer treatment plants along with all pumping stations have been tested.

At this time we are asking citizens to prepare accordingly. We ask that you be a good neighbor, check in on friends, family and neighbors, particularly seniors and those with limited access and functionality.

In addition, we ask that you keep your pets in mind during this severe weather outbreak.
