Vehicle Break-Ins

Good Afternoon, it is unfortunate that I have to report our town experienced several vehicle break-ins overnight. I have been in touch with the Rock Hall Police Department as well as other law enforcement agencies. Be assured additional resources are being brought in and additional precautions are taking place to tackle this on-going problem. Just moments ago, the Town of Rock Hall and Rock Hall Police Department issued a CodeRed Alert notifying residents of some additional precautions that you as a property owner can do to assist us with this problem:

1. Report any unusual activity to law enforcement as soon as possible. Even a small detail could be very important so please report anything unusual.
2. Do not confront suspects directly. Contact law enforcement by calling 911 or 410-778-1241.
2. Be extra attentive to activity on your street or in your neighborhood.
3. Lock all windows and doors in your homes during the night or when you are away.
4. Keep vehicles locked overnight.
5. Do not keep any money, wallets, purses, bank bags, etc., in your vehicles.
6. If you plan to travel make arrangements with a reliable person to pick up your mail and keep an eye on your place. Also notify the police department of your plans so that we may make frequent checks of your property while you're away.
7. Install motion lights if possible.

Be assured that all of the law enforcement agencies serving Kent County are exchanging information and working towards the same goal of restoring peace and security to our community.
