Country Singer Skyelor Anderson will attend Rock Hall's 4th of July Festivities

On behalf of the Mayor and Council and the citizens of the Town of Rock Hall, Maryland, I would like to welcome rising country singer Skyelor Anderson to the Town of Rock Hall for the 4th of July Weekend. Skyelor will be performing all weekend long at different venues. Skyelor is coming from Southaven, Mississippi. Skyelor has always enjoyed country music and has a dream to be on tour someday. Skyelor has performed at many music festivals and venues over the past couple years including Springfest in Southaven. Skyelor's short but eventful road to the Springfest stage began almost six years ago when his family moved to DeSoto County, Mississippi from Memphis. The rural setting provided Skyelor, who grew up singing in church, with an unlikely musical direction. In his freshman year of high school, Skyelor entered and won the school's Southaven Idol competition. That gave him the confidence to try out for the Fox music competition program "The X Factor" in 2011. Out of more than 250,000 people who tried out, Skyelor made it to the Top 8 before being sent home by judge L.A. Reid for, ironically, sounding too country! After taking a year off from playing music after the show, Skyelor began playing again. Currently, he plays at many venues throughout the south and performs as many as three shows a week. Skyelor has many hit songs available on itunes and also has a facebook page with his latest hits. Skeylor will be arriving in Town on July 3rd, he will be making appearances at Waterman's Crabhouse and Harbor Shack on Friday night, he may participate in a couple songs with the local bands, on Saturday, July 4th, Skeylor will be performing the National Anthem and many of his hit singles at the Civic Center during the annual 4th of July Festival following the parade on Main Street. He may also perform a couple songs at the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company's Fish Fry on July 4th evening. On Sunday, July 5th, Skyelor will perform the National Anthem at the Waterman's Day Celebration. This is very exciting for our town and we are looking forward to a great 4th of July Holiday.
