Rock Hall awarded Community Legacy Funds

The Town of Rock Hall is pleased to announce the receipt of $85,000 in grant monies from the State Department of Housing and Community Development. The grants are in support of two separate projects. One, in the amount of $35,000, is for streetscape improvements to Main Street, including the installation of trees, benches and additional trash receptacles, as well as repair and replacement of eroding concrete and brick along the sidewalks. The second grant, for $50,000, is for facade improvements to a signature development off Main Street - Oyster Court - and includes refurbishing of all the shops as well as the development's anchor building - The Reuben Rodney Gallery. According to Rock Hall Mayor Brian Jones "We are delighted to receive this generous award from DHCD in support of the Town's on-going efforts to re-energize Main Street and strengthen the local economy. This will provide a big boost to our revitalization campaign."

Rock Hall is one of forty-five communities State-wide to receive Community Legacy funds.
