Rock Hall needs your help to win the 'Small Business Revolution' contest

Rock Hall has an opportunity for a substantial financial boost that would benefit Rock Hall's Main Street revitalization efforts. The deadline for your input is October 21st, 2016.

As part of its “Small Business Revolution” marketing program, created to publicize its services for small businesses, the Deluxe Corporation is sponsoring a competition among American small towns. Called the Small Business Revolution on Main Street, the program will award a $500,000 makeover to one small town (population less than 25,000).

Please click here or go to http://smallbusinessrevolution.org/main-street-revolution/#nominate to learn more about the program. Then write an essay no longer than 500 words about why Rock Hall is perfect for this program and submit it through the online form.

There is no limit to how many people can nominate the same town, and the greater number of original essays we submit, the greater our chances. Please share this post with anyone else you believe will bring a good perspective or creative approach to the nomination. The more the competition organizers hear from different segments of our community the better: elected officials, organizations, business owners, artists, watermen, teachers, retirees, pastors, students of all ages, farmers, everyone!

The town that wins the “Small Business Revolution on Main Street” contest and its small businesses will receive a $500,000 revitalization in the form of one-on-one guidance from Herjavec; marketing and business services from Deluxe Corporation, a leading provider of small-business marketing services; and upgrades to the town’s public spaces.

In addition to the $500,000 transformation and video series, the winning town will receive major publicity: The initial contest was covered in the Wall Street Journal, Inc. Magazine, Entrepreneur, and many other major media outlets across the country.

Nominations are open through Friday, Oct. 21 and take only a few minutes to complete. The finalist announcement is planned for February, at which point the American public will vote to determine the final winner. Eligible towns must have fewer than 25,000 residents, and anyone can nominate a town, whether they live there or not.

More details appear at SmallBusinessRevolution.org, and once again here’s the nomination page. Please share this opportunity with anyone who you believe may be interested, and contact the Town Hall or Mayor Brian Jones if you have any questions.
