TOWN OF ROCK HALL PUBLIC NOTICE Charter Amendment Resolution No. 2023-01 and Ordinance No. 2023-07 The purpose of this public notice is to notify the citizens of the Town of Rock Hall of Charter Amendment Resolution No. 2023-01 and Ordinance No. 2023-07, which were introduced by the Council during a public meeting held on September 14, 2023. Charter Amendment Resolution No. 2023-01, if adopted, would amend the Municipal Charter of the Town of Rock Hall (as published in Chapter 125, Volume 7, Compilation of Municipal Charters) for the purpose of deleting certain language regarding purchasing and contracts. Ordinance No. 2023-07, if passed, would amend Chapter 184 (Sewers) of the Code of the Town of Rock Hall to enact provisions regarding the pretreatment of wastewater by commercial and industrial users. The foregoing constitutes a fair summary of Charter Amendment Resolution No. 2023-01 and Ordinance No. 2023-07. The Council will hold public hearings on Charter Amendment Resolution No. 2023-01 and Ordinance No. 2023-07 on October 12, 2023, during their regular monthly meeting commencing at 6:00 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, 5621 Main Street, Rock Hall, Maryland, during which time interested citizens shall be afforded an opportunity to provide comments and ask questions regarding the foregoing legislation. Individuals wishing to observe the public hearing may do so in person or online by going to the Town’s website, www.rockhallmd.gov. Individuals wishing to comment during the hearing may do so in person or by joining the public hearing online using GoToMeeting at https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/949645733 or by calling (872) 240-3212 and entering 949-645-733 as the access code. Additional details on how to join the public hearing online using GoToMeeting are available on the Town’s website. The Council intends to act upon Charter Amendment Resolution No. 2023-01 and Ordinance No. 2023-07 immediately following the public hearing. Written comments submitted in advance of the public hearing shall be considered provided they are delivered to the Town Office, 21447 Rock Hall Avenue, P.O. Box 367, Rock Hall, Maryland 21661, no later than 12:00 p.m. on October 12, 2023. Copies of Charter Amendment Resolution No. 2023-01 and Ordinance No. 2023-07 are available to the public on the Town’s website.
