“Did you Know”

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather! It’s that time of the year on the Eastern Shore for the rain spells and the warmer temperatures. With rain comes the growth of everyone’s lawns…. I know, I know…. like we all need more work upon us, however, with that growth comes maintaining it. I’d like to touch base on……..

Code 157-2 (L)

Height of vegetation

(1)

This subsection does not apply to:

(a)

Trees, cultivated crops, or cultivated ornamental shrubbery or plants;

(b)

Lots or parcels of land devoted to a bona fide agricultural use or designated by any governmental agency as a wildlife preserve, official wetlands, or forests; or

(c)

Areas required to be maintained in a natural vegetative state by any governmental agency.

(2)

A person may not allow any vegetation to grow higher than 12 inches on any lot or parcel of land that is immediately adjacent to improved property.

Maintaining a yard has a tremendous impact on keeping away unwanted vermin, insects, snakes, and makes the property just look better. There is nothing more fulfilling than doing yard work to make it look the best it can be. I agree it takes a lot of work, but it does help with lessening the number of “critters” in the yard, as well as cutting down on those annoying mosquitoes. It is also good practice to not have junk/tires/buckets laying around as these items become breeding grounds for those pesky skeeters! (Amongst other bugs as well). There are plenty of local yard maintenance companies if you just do not have the time to take care of your yard as frequent as it should be. Let us help one another by maintaining our yards to cut down on these health concerns. Again everyone, stay safe and help one another out! Till next time, stay cool with the upcoming warmer weather approaching!
