FY27 Budget and Tax Rate Public Hearing

The purpose of this public notice is to notify the citizens of the Town of Rock Hall of Ordinance No. 2026-04, which was introduced by the Council during their monthly public meeting held on June 29, 2026.

Ordinance No. 2026-04, if passed, would adopt a budget and set the real property tax rate at $0.38 per $100.00 of assessed valuation for the Town’s 2027 Fiscal Year.  The foregoing constitutes a fair summary of Ordinance No. 2026-04 as introduced by the Council on June 29, 2026. 

The Council will hold a public budget hearing on July 9, 2026, commencing at 6:00 p.m. at the St. John's Hall 5557 Main Street, Rock Hall, Maryland, during which time interested citizens shall be afforded an opportunity to provide comments and ask questions regarding Ordinance No. 2026-04 and the Town’s proposed budget and real property tax rate for the Town’s 2027 Fiscal Year.  The Council intends to act upon Ordinance No. 2026-04 during its regular monthly meeting, which will commence immediately following the public budget hearing. Written comments submitted in advance of the public hearing shall be considered provided that they are delivered to the Town Office no later than 4:00 p.m. on July 9, 2026.
